Lineage Table




 

Explanation:
 

This table is roughly akin to a pedigree chart, though it includes only those families for whom we have included narrative histories on this site.  Here’s how it works:
 

Each row presents the lineage (ancestry) in the male line for the individual whose surname is in CAPS.  Each subsequent column in the same row contains the surname of the spouse in each generation.  Thus, in the first row “BINGHAM” represents our grandfather, Norman.  “Fox” in the second column represents his wife; “Fife” in the third column, the wife of his father; “Aldous” in the fourth column, the wife of his grandfather, and so on.  The father of “Fox” in the first row is represented by “FOX” in the second row; the father of “Fife,” by “FIFE” in the third row; the father of “Aldous,” by “ALDOUS” in the fourth row, and so forth.
 

Figures shown in the "Born" row indicate the earliest and latest birth dates for each generation.
